The purpose of the Membership Committee is to engage and expand membership. Member engagement and retention are top priorities. By seeking feedback from current members on ways to improve Chamber member services, this committee continues to increase the value of membership benefits and investment.
The Ambassador Committee is comprised of outgoing Chamber volunteers who reach out to welcome and engage new members. Each new Chamber member is adopted by a Chamber ambassador, and welcomed with a call and invitation to the next Member Orientation and upcoming events. Chamber Ambassadors assist with Member Orientations as well as greeting and registration at chamber events and ribbon cuttings.
LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
This committee is responsible for keeping abreast of major issues that impact local businesses and working with elected and non-elected officials on issues and programs that move our community forward.
The Nomination Committee reviews potential board of trustee’s nominations and recommends a slate to the board to be voted upon at the annual meeting in December. This committee also reviews and recommends winners for the annual Delta Awards. Additionally, this committee reviews and recommends nominations of Chamber members for external awards.
This group researches, reviews and recommends programing options for the C-Suite Speaker Series, Leadership Academy, professional development opportunities and special events.
TASTE OF NEW ALBANY COMMITTEE
This committee plans and executes the Chamber’s largest event. Taste of New Albany features food, fun, friends and live entertainment. Taste of New Albany showcases the area’s finest restaurants, caterers and and distilleries.
HUMAN RESOURCES COUNCIL
The New Albany Chamber of Commerce HR Council provides a venue to exchange ideas, discuss employment-related topics and receive professional development and training. The HR Council events and seminars are offered to broaden and expand human resource knowledge and to keep abreast of changing legal requirements. The HR Council is composed of representatives who are responsible for the human resource tasks in their individual companies, including small businesses.
NEW ALBANY YOUNG PROFESSIONALS (NAYP)
New Albany Young Professionals (NAYP) is a meaningful group of dedicated, talented young professionals from a wide cross-section of careers and industries. The NAYP mission is to build relationships, develop professionally, become civically and philanthropically active. Typically, members are under the age of 40 and/or have less than 5 years of experience in their current field.
