The Ambassador Committee is comprised of outgoing Chamber volunteers who reach out to welcome and engage new members. Each new Chamber member is adopted by a Chamber ambassador, and welcomed with a call and invitation to the next Member Orientation and upcoming events. Chamber Ambassadors assist with Member Orientations as well as greeting and registration at chamber events and ribbon cuttings. 2018 Ambassador Committee Meetings are 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., at the New Albany Chamber offices, March 6, July 10, September 11 and November 6. LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
This committee is responsible for keeping abreast of major issues that impact local businesses and working with elected and non-elected officials on issues and programs that move our community forward.
This committee reviews potential board of trustee member nominations and recommends a slate to the board of trustees. They also reviews nominations for the annual Delta Awards and external community awards.
This group researches, reviews and recommends speakers, facilitators and programming options for the C-Suite Speaker Series and professional training and development opportunities.
TASTE OF NEW ALBANY COMMITTEE
This committee plans and executes the Chamber’s largest annual event. Taste of New Albany is an annual event featuring food, fun, drinks and entertainment while showcasing area’s finest restaurants, caterers, and specialty food and alcohol vendors.
HUMAN RESOURCES COUNCIL
This council meets to exchange ideas, discuss employment-related topics and receive professional development and training. Programming included workshops and seminars designed to broaden and expand human resource knowledge and to keep abreast of changing legal requirements.
NEW ALBANY YOUNG PROFESSIONALS (NAYP)
New Albany Young Professionals (NAYP) is a meaningful group of dedicated, talented young professionals from a wide cross-section of careers and industries. The NAYP mission is to build relationships, develop professionally, become civically and philanthropically active. Typically, members are under the age of 40 and/or have less than 5 years of experience in their current field.
HOLIDAY MARKET & TREE LIGHTING COMMITTEE
This committee kicks off the holiday season by planning the Chamber’s Holiday Market & Tree Lighting. Residents and visitors bring the whole family to enjoy free hot cocoa, snacks, crafts, caroling and holiday cheer. Santa makes an appearance and available for pictures. This event is tied into a strong shop local effort and partners with many local businesses and non-profit organizations.
