The Ambassador Committee is comprised of outgoing chamber volunteers that reach out to welcome and engage new members. Each new Chamber member is “adopted” by a Chamber ambassador and welcomed with a call and invitation to the next New Member Orientation and upcoming event. Chamber Ambassadors assist with New Member Orientations, Ribbon Cuttings, and assist with greeting and registration at chamber events.
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
The mission of the New Albany Government Affairs Committee is to represent, monitor and act on the interests of the business community in local, state and federal legislative issues and to communicate those interests to members, the community and elected officials. The committee also develops relationships with public officials to ensure business input and representation at all levels of government.
This committee vets and reviews potential board of trustee member nominations and recommends a slate to the board of trustees. They also vet and review nominations for the annual Delta Awards and external community awards and make recommendations to the board of trustees.
This group researches, reviews and recommends speakers, facilitators and programming options for the C-Suite Speaker Series and professional training and development opportunities.
TASTE OF NEW ALBANY COMMITTEE
This committee plans and executes the Chamber’s largest annual event. Taste of New Albany is an annual event featuring food, fun, drinks and entertainment while showcasing area’s finest restaurants, caterers, and specialty food and alcohol vendors.
HUMAN RESOURCES COUNCIL
The HR Council provides a venue to exchange ideas, discuss employment-related topics and receive professional development and training. The HR Council events and seminars are offered to broaden and expand human resource knowledge and to keep abreast of changing legal requirements.
NEW ALBANY YOUNG PROFESSIONALS (NAYP)
The New Albany Young Professionals (NAYP) have come together to connect with each other and make a positive contribution to the community. The NAYP mission includes building relationships, developing professionally, and being civically and philanthropically active. Typically, members are under 40.
HOLIDAY MARKET & TREE LIGHTING COMMITTEE
This committee kicks off the holiday season by planning the New Albany Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Residents and visitors bring the whole family to enjoy free hot cocoa, snacks, crafts, caroling and holiday cheer. Santa makes an appearance and available for pictures. This event is tied into a strong Shop Local effort and partners with many local businesses and non-profit organizations.
